about
Born in Barcelona, I graduated in Materials and Industrial Design Engineering in 2004. I didn’t know whether to choose engineering, math, or arts growing up. Industrial design felt like it lived in all three worlds, so that’s what I went for.
After university I worked for a European automotive company. That took me through factories, physical products, and a lot of travel across Europe and Asia. I’ve also lived in Australia for a period. The world got smaller the more I moved through it.
Before settling in Cancun, my husband and I opened a small business in Barcelona selling and renting jetboards, motorized surfboards. Two or three months after opening, a battery fire destroyed everything. The business was gone. All of it.
What did I feel? Shock, for sure. Uncertainty. But also, like I always do, opportunity. What’s next?
We traveled for a while, figuring things out. Going back to what I did before didn’t make sense anymore. I had to find another way.
We eventually settled in Cancun. Beautiful city, almost no industrial sector. I had to reinvent.
I had never worked online before. I remember watching a friend who was a programmer and thinking it looked complicated and boring. That green screen and all of that.
But I started with SEO. I managed a website and grew it 3X through organic search alone. It was working, but something was missing.
Then I found UX/UI design. That was the moment everything clicked. When I studied industrial design engineering, we did the same thing: understanding the user, designing for their experience. The only difference was that instead of physical products, I was working on digital ones. Because of my engineering background, it was actually easy to learn.
I started building websites for smaller clients. Learning, getting better. And just by luck, like many things in life, I found my first big opportunity. Or maybe it found me.
From there, the team started to grow.
Today, the team is over 25 people. We work with medium and large industrial companies across North America. I still split my time between Cancun and Barcelona, if I’m not skiing in the mountains or exploring the world.
